Gravity Channel

Gravity Channel brings the everyday tools of a mixing chain together in one panel: input trim and polarity, high- and low-pass filters, a three-band EQ, a smooth compressor, the BLOOM harmonic stage, and a clean output trim. It sits on any track and does the ordinary jobs well -- shape tone, control dynamics, add weight or air, set level -- without leaving the strip.

Left at its defaults it stays neutral and transparent, letting the source speak. Color is something you add deliberately, in measured amounts. The three-band EQ prints what it measures -- the printed FREQ and GAIN are the curve's own -- and the compressor is a natural, smooth VCA design with a 2:1 ratio and soft knee, RMS or Peak detection, feed-forward or feedback.

Free. No iLok, no activation. Windows and macOS -- VST3, AU and AAX.

The EQ is recalibrated and BLOOM Off is now clean, so some existing settings sound slightly different. BLOOM Air and Body sound the same as before.

The EQ now prints what it measures

• LF/HF FREQ is the shelf's half-gain point, MID FREQ the center of the bell, GAIN the most the band does anywhere -- held to 1% in frequency and 0.05 dB in gain at every knob position.
• The curve display draws what the audio does. It was up to 2.4 dB out at +/-12 dB.
• The EQ is now the same curve from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz; the 48 kHz sound did not move.
• Scale: 27 of the 31 factory presets use the EQ; the shift averages 0.25 dB rms, worst case 1.24 dB. A single band moves 0.2-0.9 dB at +/-3 dB and 0.6-3.5 dB at +/-6 dB. Re-check any mix with MID above 3 kHz at +/-6 dB or more.
• The HPF is unchanged.

Cleaner BLOOM

• BLOOM Off is now linear and flat: within about 0.04 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with no added harmonics (it used to keep a faint always-on character). With oversampling on, Off is a pure delay of exactly the reported latency. Liked the old faint colour? Dial in a little Air or Body.
• Less aliasing when BLOOM is engaged: the saturator is anti-aliased at 2x, 4x and 8x. At 4x the worst case drops from -49 dBc to -122 dBc; at 8x from -101 to -133 dBc.
• A new Bloom engine choice in the options menu: Iron (default, the BLOOM you know) or Satin, a transparent sheen with low, level-proportional harmonics. Existing sessions and presets open on Iron.

New

• Oversampling phase: Minimum / Linear. Linear makes the clean part of the signal a pure delay at every frequency, so Gravity lines up exactly with a dry copy in parallel processing. It costs latency and more CPU while BLOOM is engaged. Not automatable and not stored in presets; your session remembers it.
• Latency (samples, the same in every BLOOM mode and engine): Minimum -- 2x 19, 4x 13, 8x 11. Linear -- 2x 140, 4x 141, 8x 142. Oversampling Off -- 0. Your DAW compensates automatically.
• Real VU meter: a lit dial, glass cover and tapered needle. The lamp goes dark while Gravity is bypassed. Ballistics and calibration are unchanged.
• Knobs re-rendered with a soft directional shadow, drawn clear of the scale labels. Purely visual.
• Fine adjustment: hold Ctrl (Windows) / Cmd (macOS) while dragging a knob, or rolling the mouse wheel over it, and the value moves in exact steps -- 0.1 dB on gains, trims, THRESH and MAKEUP; 1 Hz or 10 Hz on frequency knobs; 1 ms on RELEASE; 1% on WIDTH and AMOUNT.
• COMP: AUTO release, Peak/RMS detector, Feed-Forward/Feedback topology, Look-Ahead (off / 5 / 10 / 20 ms). Threshold now reaches -50 dB, release 50-560 ms. The sidechain HPF is now 12 dB/octave.
• FILTER: an LPF, 1.5-20 kHz, fully right is OFF.
• AAX, for Pro Tools. 31 factory presets, up from 21.

Fixed

• Silence at host sample rates below about 39 kHz.
• The preset name no longer resets when the editor is reopened.
• Factory presets no longer overwrite your oversampling and look-ahead settings; presets and RESET no longer change the host bypass (a session restore still does).
• Faint low-frequency spurs under a steady tone (up to about -84 dBc, inaudible) now sit at the noise floor. Non-finite output is scrubbed, preset files are bounds-checked, and host bypass is bit-exact.

Compatibility

Sessions and presets load unchanged. No standalone application. THRESH and RELEASE have wider ranges -- check any normalised automation lanes written against them.
